The legendary rock musical Romeo & Juliet returns to the stage, offering audiences an unforgettable experience on Estonia’s largest theatre stage to date. The timeless love story gets a contemporary interpretation, blending classical tragedy with the possibilities of modern theatre.
This is the biggest theatre production ever staged in Estonia. Over 100 actors, singers, and performers will take the stage. The musical score will be performed by the band Terminaator together with a symphony orchestra, joined by a youth choir and dancers. Audiences will be amazed by spectacular special effects and action unfolding across the entire arena.
The title roles are played by Jaagup Tuisk and Wanda-Helene Ollep. Alongside Romeo and Juliet, the stage will feature Sepo Seeman, Jan Uuspõld, Kaire Vilgats, Üllar Saaremäe, Amanda Hermiine Künnapas, Kalle Sepp, Ott Lepland, Lauri Liiv, Kärt Anton, Kaarel Targo, and Janet Jamie Vavilov. More cast members will be announced soon. Directed by Tanel Saar, choreography by Märt Agu. The performance will include iconic musical hits composed by Elmar Liitmaa and Jaagup Kreem.
This is a story of two young lovers whose forbidden love blossoms amid a decades-long feud between their families. A clash of generations and values, a struggle between true emotion and a material world. Though the tragic ending finally brings reconciliation, it comes too late to save Romeo and Juliet’s love.
